If you’re looking for a refreshing break, Ojo de Agua is a nice option: the water is clean, clear, and cool, perfect for a dip on a hot day. The pools are fed by natural spring water, so the temperature stays pleasantly refreshing all year round. It’s also surrounded by tall trees and wooden decks, making it easy to relax in the shade between swims.
Just keep in mind that it’s quite commercial and developed, with bars, music, and many visitors during peak hours. It’s not a wild or untouched place — more a comfortable spot to enjoy the water.
The entrance fee is usually around 10 USD for foreigners, sometimes including a small credit to spend inside, while locals pay a reduced rate.
From El Zopilote it’s about 3.5 km: you can get there easily by scooter, by bicycle, or on foot (about 45–60 minutes depending on your pace).
A simple, pleasant place to cool off for a couple of hours.
