We offer our Permaculture Farm Tour several times a week, completely free for our guests.
Visitors from outside are also welcome, we simply ask that they make a consumption at our restaurant in support of the project.
The tour usually starts at 11 a.m. and lasts around two hours.
It is guided either by Cristiano, the owner, once a week, or by one of our trained volunteers on the other days.
To see the weekly schedule and who will be guiding, please check Instagram @fincaelzopilote or Facebook: El Zopilote, Isla de Ometepe, where we publish our updated timetable.
Every tour is different, because there is so much to explore and two hours are never enough to cover everything.
In general, we explore our permaculture plantations, our greywater recycling system, the vegetable gardens, our solar systems, the swales and water-management design, the five permaculture zones, the principles of guilds and companion planting, the bamboo forest, the biodigester, the compost area, the nursery, our aquaponics setup, syntropic agriculture, and other elements of our evolving regenerative landscape.
It is a rich introduction to how we work with nature, not against it, and to the many systems that support life at El Zopilote.
