El Zopilote offers high-quality bamboo for construction and craft use.
Available materials:
• Cured cana brava (Guadua aculeata) – lengths up to 10 meters
• Price: C$100 per meter, delivered to the Bushop at El Zopilote
• Green small bamboo – C$35 per meter, lengths 5–8 meters
All culms are mature, carefully selected, and professionally prepared.
Customers may choose between:
• Base section: strong and durable, usually less straight
• Upper section: straighter and lighter, easier to work with
Harvesting is performed at low moon, at night, and at low tide.
After cutting, the bamboo is naturally fermented and then treated with a borax–boric acid solution to prevent insects, mold, and metal oxidation.
All harvesting and sales follow legal regulations and help reduce illegal deforestation on the island.
Transport can be arranged to Volcán Maderas, Volcán Concepción, or the port.
Discounts are available for large orders. Pre-orders are accepted with a deposit, as some preparation time is required.
